360 EXHIBITION AT HITCHIN MUSEUM
A
PANORAMA OF PANORAMAS
Nikon CP950 - 9
images stitched with Panorama Tools. 12 January 2001
The "Hitchin 360" exhibition, at Hitchin Museum from 23/12/00 to 11/2/01, comprises two galleries of panoramas taken by local photographer Mike Howarth. In addition to the prints hung on the walls, panoramas were availble for viewing on the PC using a QuickTime viewer. A novel feature was a group of aerial shots of the town and surrounding countryside taken from a helicopter. The exhibition prints were from 35mm images scanned to PhotoCD, stitched by Apple's QuickTime VR 4.01and printed by Photo Finish on an Encad Novojet digital printer .
My thanks to The Hitchin Museum for giving permission to photograph the gallery, and to Mike Howarth and the Museum's curator, Gill Riding, for sanctioning the display of the panorama here. | Mike Howarth is Director MHM Services (VR) and senior lecturer in Digital Production at West Herts College, Watford.
